July 6th: We arrived Portland around 4pm. I had a dear friend Lucy give Brad and myself a tour of Portland. We walked along the Willamette River and down to the Blues Festival while jumping in and out of a couple of local watering holes. Portland is amazing and I would contemplate moving there in a heart beat. The pace was slow, laid back, and there was a no rush attitude. The city is small enough to walk everywhere or to travel on bicycle. Public transit was very efficient.

Later that night Brad and I met up with some more friends from Connecticut. We ended up at a karaoke bar called the Paragon. It was definitely a local’s bar but it was a lot fun and I’m glad we went. As the night winded down we sat out on a porch couch talking and looking at the stars.

Grants Pass -no apostrophe! – Can I hear a tune from the karaoke experience? Sounds like a nice place to be – efficiently calm.
