I’m not sure when I posted last but Utah was a diamond in the rough. The Salt Flats were a surreal white desert- easily converted into a Rothko. Moab was sensational. It was my second time down to Arches National. I took Brad to see Delicate Arch at sunset that ended with a Radiohead jam session that led us out of the park and back to the hotel in Moab. The next morning Mike, Brad, and myself embarked through Arches with a head full of caffeine and excitement. After Moab we drove east to Denver for two nights. It didn’t take me long to make friends with Hector the DJ and the two bartenders Mitch and Kevin at Peaks Lounge on the 27th floor of our Hyatt Regency Hotel. I found myself at an after hours club called “2am” after Sir Broham (Brad) passed out on our first night in town. The fun part was taking a bicycle taxi across town alone after midnight. My tour guide was Chris and he got me from 16th St. back to my hotel for supplies and then back out to “2am” where I danced and met some clowns that brought me back to the hotel around 5am. (Polaroids to follow) A 6:45am room service feast was enjoyed greatly. I ordered smoked salmon, eggs benny, and french toast. Yes there are more pictures of the morning, courtesy of Brad to follow. I also met two other great couples, one at Peaks: Santiago/Candace, and one in the hotel elevator: Cale/Ashleigh. Denver was good times… A Sunday morning diner breakfast is what we needed before heading up to Fort Collins for a reservoir bath, photo shoot, and boat splash with Levi (Mike’s bottle model). After avoiding some rattlesnakes and high altitudes we headed northeast up to South Dakota- cutting through Wyoming and stopping at the 77 Saloon for some Buffalo Burgers and Steak Melts. Stephanie was a heck of a host.
Today we saw Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monu., and the Badlands. We were lucky enough stay and hang out in Wall, South Dakota (LAND OF WALL DRUG STORE: a mom and pop Walmart of the wild great plains). Mike and I met a wonderful woman/bartender at the “Wagon Wheel Bar” Jenny who answered my 20 questions on Native Americans and their reservations. Intriguing and delicious. Brad and I ventured out to a couple of bars on the Wall, SD strip but decided to call it early considering we were alone at the bar.
I did sign a cc receipt with Dr. Rottman this evening…….
